You say Coolhood is designed to be fun. How so?

Our articles, video and audio files stick closely to pop culture, covering topics like lifestyles, trends, music, film, fashion, travel, health, sports, culture and so on. Our goal is to keep it hip and fun. Spend some time on our site and you will see that for yourself.

Why is it important that I enjoy Coolhood?

If it is interesting you will keep coming back. If you keep coming back you will improve your English skill more rapidly. Moreover, you might find that because our material is interesting, you will have an easier time focusing, that you retain more, and reach a higher level of understanding.

I’ve registered for the site. Now what?

Go to the content and start learning. Read an article. Listen to an audio or video clip. Once you have done that you will be asked a few questions. If you answer the questions correctly, that’s great! If not, don’t worry because you will be guided to the correct answer and will learn in the process. Once you have answered all of the questions you will be rewarded points.

I’ve completed all of the current and archived material. Now what should I do?

Well done! Completing the material takes you a step closer to your goal of learning English. However, if you want to continue to develop you should take a little time to review all that you have learned from the material. Perhaps you want to read an article or watch a video a second time? Or maybe you want to review some of the vocabulary that you have been introduced to?

Keep going. Read another article, listen to an audio file or watch a video file. Check out our archives for additional material.

My teacher asked me to join Coolhood. Can my teacher access my scores?

Yes. Your teacher will be able to access your scores. They will also be able to tell what activities you’ve done and which ones you haven’t done. How they use this information is up to their discretion.

Is your advertising going to annoy me?

At Coolhood we make every effort to keep our advertisements as unobtrusive as possible. Our goal is to display advertising that doesn’t deceive, and that is relevant to our members. We don’t allow annoying advertising techniques, such as pop-ups.
